Author Ebony Alexander-Knights was at the Black Book Expo promoting her books (Single, "Yes" But Desperate, "No": Unleashing The Power Within You! , Women Empowerment: "Speak it until you see it!" and Letters to Grandmas and Papas).
Judicial Discrimination (The New FrontLine In The Quest For Equality) by Damond J Carter is self explanatory. It's a must read for me. Please support and share for your edification and others. Wisdom is a must.

Light Up Your Life: And Keep it Lit!!" by Robert T. Gardner "This book is intended to clear the view of life for people, especially our youth, who sometimes allow themselves to be derailed from their chosen paths—usually, due to a wide assortment of experiences they endure related to family life. As human beings, the early part of our lives shape how we think, feel, and behave during the latter part of our lives. It is these experiences that determine if we possess the emotional intelligence to propel ourselves to live a fulfilled life and do what we were born to do. Each of us was born with a special talent. Yet most of us miss our true calling. In this book, you will find out how to turn on your light, become what you were born to be, and make the world a better place." Mrs. Teri Washington was at the Black Book Expo. Mrs. Washington was one of the speakers and she was also displaying her book, "Take Off The Mask". Did I mention that she is the editor and publisher at Harvest Magazine? Support, read this book and be encouraged.
Take Off The Mask "For too long we have come to our places of worship as if it were a masquerade fully dressed and unwilling to be disclosed. The more expensive our clothing the less attention we bring to our true selves. Just as a woman who wouldn't go out of the house without her face on, we church folk would not dare leave home without our masks. We reach for our masks just as we reach for our bibles as we walk out the door." Thank you Ray Felix for giving me your business card. Hidden gems in the BX.

"The storms of life will blow and at times make us feel all alone and ready to give up. With encouraging words and knowing you’re not in this alone, that feeling can make you strive to make it through another day. We are all a little bent, but thank God, we are not broken to the point of unrepair. Through the forty-day reading and using the reflection pages, I believe you will discover how strong you are and know that you’re not on this ride alone. I been there and understand and sharing what I faced with you. We are Bent But Not Broken." AJ Williams was at the Black Book Expo this year. His book, Flame Of Retribution is a wonderful read that will be in our book club in the month of October. Please support this wonderful brother and his wonderful book. “Eric and Joanna Harland are having the night of their lives at a reception celebrating a milestone event- their wedding. The festivity, however, is short-lived, for only a few hours later twenty-one year old Eric Harland is murdered at the hands of the NYPD after a raid gone wrong. Understandably, Joanna is distraught, but determined not to let the memory of her innocent husband die. She turns her pain and loss into a campaign to bring the officers to justice, but after months of fighting the officers are aquitted and free to return to their jobs. After the loss, she finds comfort in the company of her late husband’s cousin Charles Wakefield – a suspected arms dealer who was wounded that night in the raid that killed her husband. But when Wakefield goes to prison for life, Joanna disappears… and that’s when the killings start.” People, I am only the photographer! I don't claim this. It's just the most hilarious thing that I've seen thus far!
My job is to shoot the image.
Memories In Barbuda.
I'm sitting by the door at the back of the house. I'm sitting between my grandmothers legs. Mama is pressing my hair. She has Dax(hair grease) in one hand and the pressing comb is heating up. She is parting my hair into sections to grease it then she will use the hot iron comb to straighten my hair. Mama only uses the green or black Dax when she is pressing my hair. As she presses my hair, I can feel the heat and hear the sizzle of the hot iron comb. It burns but if I move, it will be worse. If I move, then the pressing comb might touch my scalp, ear, forehead, neck, etc........, and lead to a burn mark that will eventually turn into a scab. Memories In Barbuda.
