Three /Fifths Awareness Day 03-05-2020

         Community members were asked by NYC Council Member Andy King, The NYC Council and the Black,Latino & Asian Caucus to attend a very important event. This event was held in different boroughs on March 5th. This "Three/Fifths Clause Awareness Day" was hosted at Muhammad Mosque No. 7 (106-08 West 127th Street NY, NY 10027)on March 5 2020. This "Three/Fifths Compromise" was a law in 1787-1868 which stated that three out of every five slaves be counted as a person. In 2016, Council Member Andy King introduced legislations in the City Council to change the language and add an ammendment stating that African Americans are 100 % human as well as to declare March 5th as "Three-Fifths Clause Awareness Day."
