Have you ever just had a rotten day? It just felt as if it was one bad thing after the next. One bad thing happens and puts you in a bad mood. Now you’re in a bad mood and everything seems to annoy you. You slouch your shoulders a little and now you think everyone’s watching you . You start to speak negatively saying,” I hate my life!” or “This sucks!” You speak it enough and you will start to believe it. So, something bad happens, you feel bad, you think bad, everything bad seems to be happening to you, you speak negatively, etc...….. It’s a cycle.
I’m learning that every thought that comes to my mind is not the truth. Yes!!! The thought that says, “Everything is going wrong!” is not 100% true. Breathe. We as women especially have a tendency to go and go as if we are robots. I’m so guilty of this. I find myself constantly depleted and exhausted. And when I feel this way is when this battle in my mind begins. I’m learning to stop and breathe. I’m learning to say no. No. My time is valuable. I’m not God who does not grow weary. I’m not omnipresent. I needed a change. I had to change my mind. Prayer and meditation has helped me alot. Small prayers of thanksgiving throughout the day has opened my mind to have faith that there is a higher power watching over me. And this faith grounds me. Meditation has also helped me to look on the brighter side of things. I look forward to closing my eyes, inhaling, exhaling and being still. Affirmations help me to speak what I want into existence. I’ve taken it upon myself to combat self-defeating thoughts with powerful, positive, happy, and successful words. I write them down in a book and I repeat them to myself over and over again until I believe it. Journaling has helped me by getting my thoughts on paper. Once I get my thoughts on paper, I can see what needs to be changed. Excercise is becoming more and more important to me. It helps to maintain my mind and body. It clears my mind, gets my blood circulating, helps me to feel and look great. Good Friends can make the most dreary day magic. They are sun rays to a cloudy soul. They lift burdens. Having someone that you can speak to is a must. Some doctors say that having friends can increase one’s lifespan and those with friends are less likely to be depressed. I’d love to know what you do to guard your mind. What motivates you to stay positive. I’m learning. How about you? Please share. Let’s love ourselves and let’s Spread Love.
