Memories In Barbuda.
I'm sitting by the door at the back of the house. I'm sitting between my grandmothers legs. Mama is pressing my hair. She has Dax(hair grease) in one hand and the pressing comb is heating up. She is parting my hair into sections to grease it then she will use the hot iron comb to straighten my hair. Mama only uses the green or black Dax when she is pressing my hair. As she presses my hair, I can feel the heat and hear the sizzle of the hot iron comb. It burns but if I move, it will be worse. If I move, then the pressing comb might touch my scalp, ear, forehead, neck, etc........, and lead to a burn mark that will eventually turn into a scab. Memories In Barbuda.
